Malvern, PA - A Cappella Pops, the Delaware Valley’s premier a cappella singing ensemble, has announced the choice of Mr. Pasquale (Pat) Montenegro as their new Music Director following the retirement of Jan Muck.

Pat is a busy conductor, music director, and pianist in the Delaware Valley, as well as a lecturer, conductor, vocal coach and accompanist for the Schools of Music and Musical Theater at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia.

Pat received his Master of Music degree in Choral Conducting from the Esther Boyer School of Music at Temple University. There he studied choral and orchestral conducting with Alan Harler, orchestral conducting with Luis Biava and opera musical direction with John Douglas. He holds a Bachelor of Music from the University of the Arts where his studies included Jazz piano with Trudi Pitts, ear training and conducting with Sean Deibler, Chamber Music with pianist Susan Starr and composition with Andrew Rudin.

In addition to his new role at A Cappella Pops, Pat conducts both the Roxborough Male Chorus and the Kelly Street Chorus, two organizations with rich histories in Philadelphia. Also, he is currently Music Director at the Masterworks Chorale, a mixed chorus based in Springfield, PA., and he also makes guest conducting appearances with the Wilmington Community Orchestra (Delaware), and the Gloria Dei Youth Orchestra of Cherry Hill, NJ.

Pat is also an accomplished piano accompanist and organist, and has performed with the Philly Pops Festival Chorus, the Philadelphia Boys Choir, the Southeastern Pennsylvania Symphony in Lansdale, PA, and the Jump City Jazz Band in Trooper, PA. As an organist he has been featured alongside the Philadelphia Chorus, the Temple University Concert Choir and the Choristers of Upper Dublin.

Pasquale and his wife, Lauren, currently reside in Marlton, NJ, and are the proud parents of three girls, Mia Nicoletta, Sofia Anna and Olivia Rose.
