Andrea Figallo

When did you first become involved in a cappella? In what capacity?
in 1992, as an amateur singer at the University of Bologna.

When did you first become involved with CASA?
ca. 1994, as soon as I got my first internet connection and found Deke's website. Text only, back then!

What locale do you cover as a CASA ambassador?
I did cover Italy for quite a few years, but due to my recent relecation to Germany (,
I'd say my involvement is now more that of an honorary European ambassador...

What role do you play as a CASA ambassador and/or what role would you like to play?
I contribute to spreading the passion for a cappella music to an average of 1600 people per concert. I help fans get information. I hold a number of workshops to teach the tecniques of a cappella singing, I conduct one of the best german choirs (, I arrange songs, produce albums, etc.

What do you do for work and play?

Tell us one thing about yourself people would be surprised to learn
I wasn't always a singer

Favorite a cappella group?
The Wise Guys

Favorite type of music?

Favorite a cappella concert?
Take 6, Milan, 1994

Anything you'd like the CASA readership to know about your area?
There is so much good a cappella music in Europe, and mostly in Germany, that it's worth organizing a trip over here to see a few concerts of a few different bands.
