Seattle Singing/Musical Group: Auditions!

Postby seatownsound » Thu Feb 21, 2013 10:54 am

After a successful first season, Seatown Sound is looking for new members!

Who: Anyone (age 21+) is welcome, but this time around we are especially keen on women who can sing a low alto part, men who can sing a high tenor part, and men and women who can both sing and beat box. If you play any instrument(s), that's fantastic!
How: Email us to indicate your interest and to get on our mailing list. Prepare one or two short (30 - 60 second) solos (singing and/or beat boxing). Choose songs that best reflect your style and show off your unique vocal talents. You'll perform your selection(s) during auditions. Feel free to accompany yourself with the instrument of your choice, but let your voice shine through.
Auditions: More information to come via email. These will take place on a Sunday afternoon/evening in Seattle.

A bit about the group:
We bring together talented vocalists and instrumentalists to create and perform different choral pieces of exceptional caliber. Our group draws inspiration from independently-labeled artists, popular and traditional works, as well as the work of members and friends of the group. United by our love of music, we are a collaborative community of talented performers.

Past and present repertoire includes songs by the Fleet Foxes, Hey Champ, Sara Bareilles and Ingrid Michaelson, Delta Rae, the White Stripes, and Grizzly Bear, to give you a sense of our "sound."

Find us on Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube!

Time commitment:
The group practices weekly on Tuesdays from 7 - 9 PM. It is our goal to perform multiple times throughout the year, and we may schedule extra rehearsals as a group to help us prepare for those gigs.
