Boston group, Random Chants, seeking altos

Postby Kbruneau » Sun Feb 24, 2013 2:17 pm

Random Chants, a Boston area women's a cappella group, is looking for our perfect match! We would like to add an Alto 1 *and* an Alto 2 to our group, and will be holding auditions in the next few weeks.

Our Alto 2s take on some pretty low notes, so auditionees need to be able to solidly hit a low D (below middle C) - anything lower is highly prized! If you are (or know someone who is) an alto who has been asked to fill in on tenor or has a constant urge to sing "down the octave", you're just the type we're looking for!

Our Alto 1's sing a bit higher, while still covering some low notes -- they tend to cover some low F's and G's, while regularly going up to the G & A above middle C. It's more of a traditional alto part, with a slight tendency to use the lower end of the range.

For either kind of alto, interest in vocal percussion or arranging music is a plus though not required.

We practice weekly in the greater Boston area. We're hoping to find others like us, women who love to sing, enjoy a wide range of songs, and are willing to do some practicing on their own time. If this sounds like your idea of fun, please contact us at auditions@randomchants.com and we will fill you in on the audition details!

For more information about our group, visit our website (random chants.com), Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/RandomChants), and YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/user/RandomChants).
