Dave Trendler wins

Dave,

Your review of DSOTM was absurd. I really can't believe how thorough you were. I feel like a lot of reviews tend to exhibit slight to noticeable cookie-cutter traits, but this one goes above and beyond.

So...thanks.

As the producer of the DSOTM-AC album, I too am pretty happy Trendler took the time to listen to the original, listen to ours, and to sync both up with Wizard of Oz (it works! we did it at the CD Release Party!).

Just a quick correction: Dave has incorrectly named "Vocomotion" as the artist on this album. The name of the group/artist is "Voices On The Dark Side." The record label name is VOCOMOTION Records (and the name of the recording studio too).

Thank to all three reviewers for very thorough reviews!

As the MD/Arranger of DSOTMA, I can't thank you enough for the care and effort you put into your review. We've had a smattering of reviews out there that seemed to focus on the reviewer's own knowledge of Pink Floyd rather actually providing feedback on our album. Your excellent write-up not only demonstrated a particular care for our project, but also contained some unnaturally deep insight and interest into what we had tried to do and how successful we were in doing it.

I was there when RARB started (Chris Tess was a friend in college...) and I've seen a lot of reviews over the years. I've been on the receiving end of some nasty ones too. This one is just awesome. One of the best I've seen. That it was for our project is such an incredible feeling.

Thanks again,
Jon Krivitzky

I dunno, guys. I give him a 4.

Perhaps if he works on those typical Dave Trendler problems...

I've actually had meals with the man, and seen his apartment. Don't get me started about the problems ...

Seriously, though, what he's done really is commendable. I'm not sure I've _ever_ listened to an album twelve times!

Thanks everyone. It's nice to know that your work is read and that people have opinions about it, for better or for worse.

You have no idea. I lived with the guy for a year and saw him knock a water fountain off the wall, as well as put a scissor cut in my hand that I still have a scar from. (thanks a-hole, my hand modeling career went down the tubes after that!!!)

I agree, Dave is a great RARB reviewer. Maybe the best they've got. RARB needs more reviewers like Dave with a myriad of experience at a number of levels of a cappella.

And I also think its great people are feeding him compliments - it reduces his violent and dangerous outbursts.

DAVE TRENDLER
Reviews 4.7 (solid review, nobody's perfect, except Spiralmouth)
Managing temper 2.0 (scar to prove it)
Interest in lighting things on fire 5.3 (especially if said object will also take flight)
Skiing ability 3.7 (getting better, but still sucks at moguls)
Spelling 1.7

Spelling 1.7!!!!

You want another scissor cut, punk!?!?!

Everyone at St. Mary's knows I'm the better speller, future burn victim, I mean, Eric. Just because I lost the "Ultimate Universal Grand Master Champion Final Determination of Who Is the Better Speller Spelling Contest", on a FAKE WORD, I might add, doesn't mean you keep the title for life. It had a 10 year expiration in the case that you won. You may have missed that in the fine print.
